It was under my nose all along

· Jacob Poot

From practice: training, building with AI and the learning portal.

I teach a lot. Online, a few hours every week on italki, since November 2024. Dutch at first, and by now also AI and IT for people who need it for their work. And every time I close my laptop afterwards with more energy than I started with.

Same thing at a client this year: the best part was always the moment I sat next to someone and showed them how to do it themselves.

Truth is, I have been doing this since I was twelve. Sailing lessons, trainer at Scouting, four years in the classroom at OGD alongside my regular job.

And still, in August I put something much broader on the front of ITKaro. Along the way I noticed I needed more focus.

Funny how you can look past something for months when it is right under your nose. Doing what you are good at and what gives you energy: I believe in that. With myself it just took a while.

Now it is happening. ITKaro becomes an IT knowledge partner. I want to be the specialist in IT training, for business.

There is a lot to add there, I find. As a knowledge partner I invest in your company, and a course is the middle part of that. Before it I find out what knowledge your company needs and what your people can already do. After it I stay close until it has sunk in. Infrastructure, cloud and AI, with their own work as the course material.

Sometimes it is a finance team or the board that wants lessons in this, in their own language and with their own questions. I guide them just as gladly, as a teacher.

And what your people build has to be run afterwards too. I bring the IT processes needed for that. From the first idea to running it, the whole life cycle.

Training takes time and someone who can do it. That is why I prefer to work with a client for a long time, so I grow along with what the people there need to learn.

So I was already doing this.

The new site is online as of today, with the learning portal behind it that I built myself. If you know a company where people want to learn this, or you are one yourself, I would love to hear from you!

If this sounds familiar, get in touch.
