The tools

What you and your people get.

You see who has started, who is busy, who has finished and which proof goes on file.

You hire me, and this is what I bring. I built the learning portal your people work in myself, so a tailored course gets the same tests and the same progress tracking as the existing one. Below is what you see of it as the client.

After a lesson you know who did what

The learning portal, through the eyes of the client.

  • You see per employee who has started, who is busy and who has finished, without having to ask.
  • You do not see marks. Those are for the participant, and for me as the teacher.
  • You download the list yourself, for your records.
  • Each participant gets a certificate with a code. With it anyone can check whether it is genuine.

What the contact person of an organisation sees: per employee how far they are and who has finished, without marks.
  1. This is what you see as the client: who has started, who is busy and who has finished. You do not see marks.
  2. You download the list yourself, for your records.
An example of the certificate of participation: the name, the subjects covered and a verification code.
  1. The certificate each participant receives on completion, listing the subjects covered.
  2. Name and organisation. At the bottom is a code with which anyone can check whether the certificate is genuine.
The public verification page of a certificate: valid, with name, course and completion date.
  1. The verification page is public: whoever has the code sees whether the certificate is valid.
  2. It shows who, which course and when. Test marks are not on it.

A report the board can read

The scan.

Upload documents, assess the evidence per item, and a report the board can read. This screen comes from a variant of the scan with a different questionnaire; the set-up and the screens are the same.

The assessment toolscreen: a variant of the scan1 of 3
The dashboard of an assessment: the overall score and the score per chapter, with coverage.
  1. The overall score, with how many of the 49 items have evidence and how certain that is.
  2. The score per chapter, from 1 to 5. A dash means: not assessed, so no score.
The evidence review: per quote the source, the role and the buttons to accept or delete.
  1. Whatever does not fit the framework is kept apart and counts in no score.
  2. Every piece of evidence is a literal quote, with the role of who said it. It only counts once a person accepts it.
The risk register: a proposed risk with impact, root cause and the finding it rests on.
  1. A risk is proposed and waits for a decision: accept, put on hold or reject.
  2. Every risk points back to the finding and the item it rests on.

Where your people's data lives

And who can reach it.

On a server in Amsterdam

The learning portal runs on a server in Amsterdam, at fly.io, an American company.

Who sees what

The participant sees their own work. You see progress and completion. As the teacher I see the marks of the group.

A backup every day

The hosting provider takes a snapshot of the disk with the database every day.

Tested

The portal has automated tests.

For engineers

How it is built.

The tests, the version control, the release chain and the anatomy of each application have a page of their own. The screens of the Dutch lesson portal and the investment dashboard are there too.

How it is built

What is not shown here

And why not.

The screens above are real. I started the applications on my laptop and a script took the pictures. The data in them is made up, and nothing has been blurred or painted over: what you are not allowed to see was never in there.

Private applications and anything belonging to a client are left out on purpose. I do not use client names unless the client has said yes to that.
