Training

From assessment to doing it yourselves.

For staff, administrators, finance, the board and juniors.

Four services: the IT scan, the training AI and Copilot at work (in-company or online), a tailored course and the Fixed knowledge day. As a knowledge partner I first look at what your people can already do, per audience. Then I train them, individually or in a group, and I stay alongside as a coach for as long as it takes. The learning portal supports that; you can also use it on its own. You do not have to start at the first step.

The four services

Assess, train, stay alongside. Start where you like.

Meet first

A half-hour call, online. I ask what your people do now and where it gets stuck. That shows where you would do best to start.

Assess

The IT scan

You know what is open too widely, who owns what and what comes first.

€2,950 or €3,950excl. VAT

Discuss a scan

What it covers: The IT scan

Two variants. Both end with a report the board can read, which I go through with you. Both include a level test per audience, more extensive than the questions in the intro call.

After a scan you may ask me for the lessons or for a Fixed knowledge day. That is why the scan has a fixed price and is complete in itself. You should be able to say no to the second without regretting the first.

AI readiness · three days · €2,950

Before everyone gets an AI assistant. You get a report with priorities that the board can read.

For whom
An organisation that wants to switch on Copilot or another AI assistant widely, or where people already work with AI and you want to make agreements about it. Also called an AI readiness or Copilot readiness assessment.
What I look at
Who can reach which folders and what is shared too widely, which licences you already have, which policies and guidelines exist, and which uses pay off first.
Who I talk to
Your administrator or the service provider with access to the systems, someone from the board, and one or two people from the teams that will be working with AI. A conversation takes an hour and a half.
What access I ask for
Read-only access, temporary and through an account from your organisation. I look and change nothing: no settings, no permissions, no files. After the scan you withdraw the account again.
The three days
  • Day one: the conversations, the level test per audience in the conversations, and the access reports. Which folders and sites are open too widely?
  • Day two: the licences you already have, the policies and agreements that exist, and the uses to start with.
  • Day three: writing the report and going through it with you.
The report
  1. What is open too widely, and what has to be closed first.
  2. Which licences you already have, and who needs a paid one.
  3. Which policies and agreements exist, and what is missing.
  4. The uses that pay off first.
  5. Where your people stand, per audience.
  6. The order in which to tackle it.
Duration
Three days.
What it is not
Not a legal opinion on the AI Act.

€2,950, excl. VAT. Discuss a scan.

Maturity: organisation and processes · five days · €3,950

How the IT organisation works now. You get a baseline and a prioritised improvement plan.

For whom
An IT team or a board that wants to know where the IT organisation stands. Also called a baseline measurement or an IT maturity assessment.
What I look at
Roles and responsibilities, the processes (against ITIL), how IT works with the rest of the business, dependence on suppliers, and where knowledge sits with one person.
Who I talk to
The IT manager or whoever directs IT, the systems administrator or the service provider with access to the systems, and someone from the board. Where relevant also HR, finance and whoever is responsible for the data. A conversation takes an hour and a half.
What access I ask for
Mostly documents: the contracts with your IT suppliers, the procedures, and whatever other documentation exists. If I need to look inside a system, for example at a quarter's worth of tickets, I get read-only access: temporary, and through an account from your organisation. The documents you provide are processed in my own assessment tool. It runs on my own encrypted laptop, without third-party hosting. For the assessment the text goes to Anthropic through the business API, under the data processing agreement.
The five days
  • Days one and two: the conversations, with the level test per audience.
  • Day three: setting the documents against the conversations. Incidents, changes, recurring problems and the agreements with suppliers.
  • Day four: working out the findings and setting the priorities.
  • Day five: writing the report and going through it with you.
The report
  1. A summary for the board.
  2. What is going well.
  3. The main findings, and the risks that come with them.
  4. Where you stand now, per subject: roles, processes, cooperation, suppliers and knowledge.
  5. Where your people stand, per audience.
  6. The recommendations: what can be done quickly and what takes longer.
  7. A prioritised plan.
Duration
Five days.
What it is not
An assessment of maturity and risk, not a legal opinion on laws or regulations.

Train, ready-made

AI and Copilot at work

Your people know what an AI assistant does, what it may see and what they must check themselves.

From €60 p.p.self-study, incl. VAT · with a teacher €800 per half day, excl. VAT

Discuss a date

What it covers: AI and Copilot at work

I start with what an AI assistant does, what it may see and what you check yourself.

One course, two forms. The same material and the same certificate.

Self-study
€60 per person, incl. VAT. About four hours at your own pace, in the learning portal, where the course is called AI Foundations. Buy the course or take the free trial lesson first.
With a teacher
In-company, for your own group: a half day of four hours (a workshop) €800, a full day €1,600, per group, excl. VAT. Self-study is included for every participant: you receive a course code, with which the participants register in the learning portal before the lesson; after the lesson they fill in a short evaluation there. You pay after the lesson.
For whom
  • A team of eight to sixteen people, twelve at most online.
  • The board and management team: a half day on what it costs, who owns the data and which policy to set.
  • The IT team that rolls out and manages Copilot: a full day.
  • The whole organisation: a one-hour start online for everyone, self-study per person, and a question hour after two weeks. The two sessions together cost €800 and are paid afterwards; self-study is added by the price scale and paid in advance.
Also possible
  • In three blocks of 80 minutes on three days, at the same price.
  • In your own Copilot, if you already have licences.
  • In the variant for your sector (the sector variants are in Dutch): office, healthcare, education, manufacturing, legal or IT.
With a teacher: what your people learn, and the running order

The group lesson: the content of AI Foundations with a trainer alongside, for teams starting to work with Copilot, Claude or another AI assistant. What a language model does, how to ask better questions, what Copilot gets to see, and Copilot in Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams. Who gets to see which files is the part that surprises people most often.

The group works in the learning portal. I demonstrate the folder exercise and the case file, then the participants do the assignment and the checking exercises in groups of three on their own laptops. In the debrief each group says what stood out, and that is where their own work comes in.

The case file is made up and matches your sector, and the exercises run against a real AI model. That is not Copilot itself: no licence and no access to your environment is needed for the day. If you already have Copilot licences, the assignment can run in your own environment; see below.

For whom
A team that works with Microsoft 365, outside IT too. Eight to sixteen participants on site, twelve at most online. If there are more, it becomes more groups.
Prior knowledge
None.
Afterwards you can
Explain what a language model does and why a convincing answer can still be wrong. Say what Copilot may and may not see, and why every folder you can reach becomes visible as soon as Copilot is switched on. Judge what Copilot does well in Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams and what it does not. Check every figure, date and name against the source before it goes out. Recognise what does not belong in a private chatbot, and know what to do about a possible data breach. Explain what Article 4 and Article 50 of the AI Act ask for.
Duration
A half day of four hours. A full day is two half days on one day: for two groups one after the other, or for one group all day. The second half day then goes deeper into their own work, by agreement.
Test
The tests of AI Foundations in the learning portal; that course is included for every participant.
Certificate
A certificate of participation listing the subjects covered, with a verification code and a public check page. For a group of your organisation, with a teacher or as a team licence, only after a mark of at least 7.0 out of 10 on every test.
Already have Copilot licences?
Then the group does the assignment in your own Microsoft 365. Your IT puts the case file I supply on a SharePoint site 24 to 48 hours ahead and tests it; each participant has an account with a Copilot licence. If that is not ready in time, the lesson runs in the learning portal.
For a large group
A one-hour start online for everyone at once (a presentation, not a lesson in a group, so without a maximum), then self-study per person, and a question hour after two weeks. The two sessions together cost €800 excl. VAT and are paid afterwards; self-study is added according to the price scale and paid in advance. For 300 participants self-study comes to €15,100 incl. VAT.
Running order
  • 0:00 · Opening and the shape of the half day.
  • 0:05 · What a language model does. Explanation.
  • 0:20 · What you already have and what it exposes. I demonstrate the folder exercise.
  • 0:40 · The assignment, first half. Groups of three on the case file.
  • 1:25 · Break.
  • 1:40 · Professional secrecy, confidentiality and shadow AI.
  • 2:00 · The assignment, second half: the two hidden errors. Groups of three.
  • 2:50 · What the law asks.
  • 3:15 · Closing: the agreements for Monday.

Online. A day on site is planned well ahead.

Self-study, with the price scale for a group

What Copilot and other AI do at work, where it goes wrong with confidential documents, and what the law requires of your organisation. In Dutch and in English. The exercises run against a real language model, so you notice for yourself what a better question does.

For whom
Anyone who works with Microsoft 365. In Dutch there are variants for offices, healthcare, education, manufacturing, legal and IT. The English course is the general edition, and there is a variant on UK law.
Prior knowledge
None.
Afterwards you can
Explain what a language model does and why a convincing answer can still be wrong. Say what Copilot may and may not see. Check an AI answer against the source before it goes out. Recognise what does not belong in a private chatbot, and know what to do about a possible data breach. Explain what Article 4 and Article 50 of the AI Act ask for.
Study time
About four hours, at your own pace: twenty lessons and six tests.
Access
For as long as your account exists. An account is removed twelve months after you last signed in.
Test
Six tests in the learning portal.
Certificate
A certificate of participation listing the subjects covered, with a verification code and a public check page. With a team licence, only after a mark of at least 7.0 out of 10 on every test. A certificate that has been issued can be verified online as long as the learning portal exists and for at most five years; save it as a PDF as well.

€60 per person, incl. VAT (€49.59 excl. VAT). Buy the course.

Up to ten people you order in the learning portal. For a larger group you get a quote with the tiered price: the first ten participants €60 per person, every participant above that €50. Request a quote.

A place in a team licence can be passed on to a colleague once, even if the previous participant had already started. That participant then loses access.

For board and management: the programme

For the board, the management team and finance. What AI is, what it costs and where it goes wrong. And the questions that belong to leadership: who owns the data, which policy you set, and what you do and do not buy. Not a technical lesson.

For whom
Board, management team and finance.
Prior knowledge
None.
Programme
  1. What an account may see. Copilot only finds what an employee can already reach, and so also a folder that is open more widely than intended. With the folder exercise from the course.
  2. What you already have and what you buy. The chat window that already comes with a common business subscription, what the paid licence adds, and who needs it.
  3. Confidentiality and shadow AI. What happens to a text in a private chatbot, why a ban on its own does not work, and what an agreement needs: a permitted route, a boundary in one sentence, and reporting without punishment.
  4. What the law asks. Article 4 and Article 50 of the AI Act in plain language, and the point at which AI helps decide about people and a lawyer should be involved. Explanation, not a legal opinion.
  5. The questions for leadership. Who owns which data, who decides what may be done with it, which policy do you put in writing, and what do you and do you not buy.
Afterwards you can
Reduce the licence question to what you already have and who needs more. Say in one sentence where the boundary lies for work data. Name who owns the data in your organisation and who is responsible for the permissions. Explain what Article 4 and Article 50 ask of your organisation.
Duration
A half day of four hours.

For the IT team: what your administrator can do afterwards

A full day on rolling out and managing Copilot, for whoever has to switch it on and keep an eye on it. The order is the lesson: first see what is open too widely, then shield it, then labels and policy, and only then switch it on widely and keep watch.

That knowledge comes from seven years of systems administration and from my time as IT manager at OGD: we set up Copilot there, and my operations team managed it.

For whom
The administrator or IT team that rolls out and manages Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Prior knowledge
You administer Microsoft 365 and during the lesson you have admin rights in your own environment or a test environment, so that you make the settings yourself.
Afterwards your administrator can
  1. Read the access reports and see which sites and folders are open too widely.
  2. Shield a SharePoint site, so that Copilot and the organisation-wide search skip it while the permissions stay the same.
  3. Apply a sensitivity label and explain what Copilot does with a labelled document.
  4. Set up a data loss prevention (DLP) rule, so that Copilot does not use documents with such a label.
  5. Set the organisation-wide settings: whether Copilot may search the web, and which AI models are available.
  6. Find in the audit log who used Copilot and when, in which app and with which sources.
Duration
A full day.

Train, tailored

Tailored course

Lessons and tests on your own processes and systems, outside AI too: cloud, Azure, Microsoft 365, system administration, agile working.

€2,250first half day, then €1,500, excl. VAT

Tell me what you need

What it covers: Tailored course

My experience in front of a class: a group remembers best what it has practised on its own work. That is why your own work is the material here.

Your own processes, documents and systems as practice material, in the same shape as AI Foundations: modules, exercises, tests and progress per participant. You choose the subject. An in-house system, a new process, a team that has to learn to run what has just been built. It can be outside AI too, for example infrastructure, Azure or systems administration. I built the learning portal myself, so a tailored course gets the same tests and the same progress tracking as the existing one.

For whom
A team or department, outside IT too.
How it runs
In the intro call we settle the subject and the number of half days. You send your examples, I build the lessons and exercises, and you see the outline before the first lesson starts.
You provide
Examples from your own work, such as a process description, a few documents or screens of the system. And one contact person who answers my questions.
With or without AI
Your choice. With AI exercises the practice material goes through Anthropic's business API, which does not use the data for training; without AI nothing goes to Anthropic.
Lead time
We agree the date of the first lesson once your examples have arrived.
You get
Lessons and exercises with your own examples, tests, progress per participant and a certificate of participation.
Who owns it
What you provide stays yours. The lesson design stays mine, and you may keep using it inside your organisation without limit.

The first half day €2,250 excl. VAT, which includes building the lessons, up to ten hours. Each further half day €1,500. How many half days it takes depends on the subject; you hear that after the intro call, before you commit to anything. Tell me what you need.

Stay alongside

The Fixed knowledge day

Guidance for your IT team: an IT manager alongside, every week on the same day.

€3,400per month, excl. VAT

Discuss a knowledge day

What it covers: The Fixed knowledge day

The aim of this day is that in time you no longer need me.

One fixed day a week, online, on which I train your IT team and think along with your IT manager. What we work on that day, we agree together. I bring the experience of someone who has done the job from service desk to IT manager.

I know this rhythm: for three years I ran the IT of several companies at once, one day a week each.

For whom
A board that wants its own IT team to be able to do it themselves. And the IT manager or the IT team of a few people, with or without an external service provider.
Two examples
  • In the morning your administrator closes the folders that are shared too widely before Copilot is switched on; I watch and explain. In the afternoon I prepare the proposal to the board with your IT manager: what is allowed, what is not, and what it costs.
  • Preparing the meeting with your IT supplier: what was agreed, what you ask for, and who owns it. Then an hour with a junior administrator on their own work.
What you prepare
I do not need access to your systems: your people do the work, I sit alongside.
You get
One page every month: what was learned, what your people can now do themselves and what comes next.
What it is not
No operations, no final responsibility and no decisions on your behalf. If you want a prepared lesson for a group, that is a tailored course.
Rhythm
One day a week, on a fixed weekday, online. A day on site is planned well ahead.
Cancelling
Monthly, with one month's notice.
Trial month
If you start before 1 January 2027, you start with a trial month: we agree beforehand what we work on that month. You pay for that month; if it does not suit you, it stops there, without a notice period.

€3,400 per month, excl. VAT. Discuss a knowledge day.

Try an exercise

Every course I teach is made of exercises like this one. This example comes from AI Foundations. In a tailored course, your own processes and documents go here.

ITKaro learning portalAI Foundations › Section 2 · What you already have › Exercise

Exercise What does the assistant see when a folder is left open?

The folders of a made-up installation company. The assistant only reads what is ticked, just as Copilot only reads what your account has access to. Untick a folder and watch what disappears from the answer.Below is the answer as it looks with the ticked folders open; the line from HR is the one that should not be there.

Veldstra's folders
You askwhat do you know about Jan de Boer?
Example answer, composed from the ticked files

Jan de Boer is project lead on Solar Park East: start 14 September, delivery end of November, budget 240 hours. (projectplan-zonnepark-oost.docx)

On 2 September he reported that the inverter delivery is two weeks late. (notulen-werkoverleg-2-september.docx)

Confidential appraisal: performance below expectations, two missed deadlines, six-month improvement plan, pay rise postponed. (beoordeling-jan-de-boer-2025.docx)

I find nothing about Jan de Boer in the available documents.

HR is open: the confidential appraisal is in the answer.HR is closed: the appraisal stays out of the answer.

The assistant does nothing wrong: it reads what is open. If a folder is open more widely than intended, an AI assistant shows that on day one.

This is an exercise from the AI Foundations, shown here with a fixed example answer. In the free trial lesson you take a real lesson, and a real AI model answers.Take the free trial lesson

What it costs for a group

A worked example: forty employees. You choose self-study or lessons with a teacher; the full day for your IT team is an optional extra.

FormHowExcl. VATIncl. VAT
Self-studyForty places, by the price scale€1,735.54€2,100
With a teacherFour groups of twelve at most, on two full days€3,200€3,872
A full day for the IT team as wellOne full day beforehand€1,600€1,936

You do not need to buy licences for the lesson, and I do not need access to your systems. If you want me on site, we plan that well ahead; the price per group is the same and travel costs are added: €0.25 per kilometre (excl. VAT), from Goes, there and back. The first hour of travel time each way is included; beyond that I charge travel time at €135 per hour, excl. VAT.

With a teacher, self-study is included for every participant. A full day is two half days on the same day: for two groups one after the other, or for one group all day. If you cannot reclaim VAT, as in healthcare and education, use the amount including VAT.

A different number? Work it out for your own team.

Who you hire

You get me.

Twelve years in IT, the last four as IT manager of an organisation with 1,300 employees at five locations. Before that I ran the IT of several companies at once for three years, one day a week each. Earlier I taught for over four years, alongside my work as a systems administrator and team lead, to IT professionals: server administration, Microsoft Azure, hardware and networking, and communication for IT people. I developed and taught the Azure Fundamentals course myself. I am a former Microsoft Certified Trainer and have worked independently since 2026. My background and what my CTO at the time wrote about it.

As CTO I was particularly pleased to have him back: from our earlier work together I knew his rare combination of deep technical knowledge, strong leadership and excellent people skills.

Rik van Berendonk, former CTO of OGD ict-diensten, on my time as IT manager. Translated from Dutch. The full recommendation

What you can expect from me

  • A trial month. If you start a Fixed knowledge day before 1 January 2027, you start with a trial month: we agree beforehand what we work on that month. You pay for that month; if it does not suit you, it stops there, without a notice period.
  • You pay after the lesson. The invoice for a half day, a full day or a tailored course comes after the lesson and is due within 14 days. Self-study, a scan and the Fixed knowledge day are paid in advance.
  • You hold your own records. The contact person downloads the list of participants with the certificate numbers, and each participant saves the certificate as a PDF. A certificate can be verified online as long as the learning portal exists and for at most five years.

Questions

What people want to know beforehand.

What does the AI Act ask, and is a course enough?

Article 4 of the AI Act has applied since 2 February 2025 and was amended as of 27 July 2026 (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744). It asks organisations for measures that support the AI literacy of their people. The article asks for no exam and no guaranteed level.

A course with a list of participants and the subjects covered on the certificate of participation is such a measure. You use it to record your own efforts.

How many people fit in a group?

On site, eight to sixteen participants; online, twelve at most. If there are more people, it becomes more groups and more half days.

Do we practise with our own documents?

Not on a standard half day or full day. The group practises in the learning portal on a made-up case file from your sector, and I need no access to your environment. Your own work comes up in the discussion. In a tailored course your own processes and documents are the practice material.

Can it be in English?

Yes. AI Foundations is in the learning portal in Dutch and in English, including a variant on UK law. Half days and full days are held in the language you choose.

What happens to our data?

The learning portal and the database run on a server in Amsterdam, with fly.io, an American company. The AI exercises go to Anthropic in the United States, on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses; what a participant types in an exercise is not stored by the portal. For a group, the AI exercises can be switched off on request. If your organisation enrols employees, the data processing agreement comes with it as standard. If you have your own agreement or the model of your sector, send it along with your request. An account is removed twelve months after the participant last signed in. The privacy statement of the learning portal names every party.

Can a full day be online?

Yes, at the same price. I teach online: your people join from their own screen, from another office too, and nobody travels. If you want me on site, we plan that well ahead. That adds €0.25 per kilometre, there and back from Goes, and travel time beyond the first hour.

How soon can a full day take place?

A date can be set from one week after you agree. That goes for every lesson with a teacher, including the one for the board and the one for the IT team.

How long do participants keep access?

For as long as the account exists. An account is removed twelve months after the participant last signed in. A certificate of participation that has been issued can be verified online as long as the learning portal exists and for at most five years.

What if a participant leaves the company?

A place in a team licence can be passed on to a colleague once, even if the previous participant had already started. That participant then loses access.

Is VAT added?

Yes. I charge 21 per cent VAT on training; the calculation table also shows the amount including VAT. The certificate lists the subjects covered and the study load.

You are one person. What if you are unavailable?

Then we plan a new date as soon as possible, at no cost. If that does not work within a reasonable time, you do not pay for that lesson, and what you already paid for it is refunded. Your records are yours: the contact person downloads the list of participants with the certificate numbers, and every participant keeps the certificate as a PDF. The Fixed knowledge day can be cancelled with one month's notice.

And our own IT administrator?

They keep doing what they do. The Fixed knowledge day is there to make your own team stronger. I was a systems administrator myself for seven years, so I know that seat from the inside. What we work on that day, we agree together.

When is this not a fit?

If you are looking for someone to take over IT operations or to be there every day, I am not the right person: I train people and then step back. If you need someone five days a week, you should hire someone, and I say so in the first conversation.

Can it be a talk?

Yes, for instance at a staff meeting: the start hour and the question hour, without self-study, and so without tests or a certificate, for €800 excl. VAT.

Who runs it afterwards?

Your own people. I teach your people how to run it: who owns it, how a change gets in and what to do when it breaks.
